Braden Bailey put himself in position for a third consecutive top five finish on the Adams Pro Tour Friday, but a bogey at the par-5, 18th hole may have left him too far back to catch leader Kyle Pritchard.

The Port Neches-Groves ex shot a four-under-par 67 in the Victoria Open and is in a three-way tie for second place with a 54-hole total of 205. Pritchard, 31, from Castroville, fired his second 65 in three days to open up a seven-stroke lead at 198.

West Orange-Stark ex Michael Arnaud pretty much saw his chances to win slip away after a three-over 38 on the front nine. Arnaud, however, rallied with a 32 on the back for 70 and is tied for sixth at 207.

In the PGA Tour’s Military Tribute at the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, PNG ex Andrew Landry battled back from an opening 73 with a two-under 68. But it was too little, too late as Landry’s 141 missed the cut in the 2019-20 season opener by four strokes.

Lamar ex Shawn Stefani also missed the cut after rounds of 74-75.

Bailey will be paired with Pritchard and Logan McCracken in Saturday’s final group. McCracken, 28, who has won twice on the APT Tour this year and is the leading money winner ($58,109), followed up rounds of 71-68 with a 66.

Bailey was headed to 66 or better when he had his only stumble of the day at 18. He’d turned in 33 with birdies at the par-4 second and par-3 sixth, then added three more birdies on the par-5 13th, the par-4 14th and the par-3 15th.
