Nederland Assistant Police Chief Andy Arnold and Sgt. Tim Smith stand outside the police station on Boston Avenue Monday morning.

Arnold and Smith are part of a team of first responders welcoming community members, especially children, to the location next week for Nederland’s National Night Out event.

Due to bad weather today, Nederland National Night Out has been rescheduled for Oct. 22 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Boston Avenue between 14th and 17th streets in Nederland.

Numerous booths and giveaways are planned for attendees.

The event is free to attend.
