Sheriff’s Deputies, Nederland PD searching for suspect in shooting

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies and Nederland Police are searching for a suspect they say fled on foot Tuesday night from a shooting in the 1500 block of Lamar Avenue.
The suspect is described as a black male wearing black clothing and a black bandana who is possibly armed. Authorities said shortly after 11:30 p.m. the scene of the shooting was active.
Citizens are asked to lock their doors and call 911 if they see anything suspicious, as law enforcement activity is occurring.
Those who are not at home are asked to not try to return until all is clear. Those who are home are asked to remain indoors until it is all clear.
