Nederland’s Seth Weeks wins Concerto Competition, date at Youth Education Concert

The Symphony of Southeast Texas announced results of the 2020 Concerto Competition, with a Nederland musician taking home top honors.
The first-place winner is pianist Seth Weeks. He won $750 and the honor of playing his competition piece, Concerto in D by Franz Joseph Haydn, at the Youth Education Concert on April 15.
The second place winner is Michael Hung of Beaumont. He won $500 playing flute to Bizet’s Carmen Fantasy.
The third place winner is Tristen Balsano of Port Neches-Groves. He won $250 playing the flute to Doppler’s Fantasie Pastorale Hongroise.
The Symphony of Southeast Texas, embarking on its 67th season, is a regional, professional orchestra based in Beaumont.
The Symphony performs subscription concerts, educational programs and other concerts throughout Southeast Texas each year. SOST’s home base is the Julie Rogers Theatre in downtown Beaumont.
