PORT NECHES — A call about a suspicious person pulling on door handles led to a foot chase, K9 search and an arrest.

Port Neches police received the call at approximately 10:18 p.m. Monday, detailing a person pulling on door handles in the parking lot at The Palms Apartments, 877 Ridgewood Drive, Police Chief Paul Lemoine said.

The man reportedly ran when he saw police and a brief foot chase ensued. The department’s K9 was called and tracked the scent to an apartment at the complex, where a suspect was arrested.

Lemoine said the man told officers he ran because he had a parole warrant.

Police arrested Glenn Semien Jr., 25, of Port Arthur on a charge of evading arrest/detention with bond set at $1,000 and a parole warrant where no bond was assessed.

He remained in the Jefferson County Correctional Facility as of midday Wednesday.
