The numbers were released early Tuesday evening by the Southeast Texas Regional Emergency Operations Center, which summarizes activities and developments related to COVID-19 in Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Newton, Orange and Tyler counties.
The numbers are a compilation from different health departments and may not be 100 percent accurate.
The Texas Justice Court Training Center is advising Justices of the Peace to report “suspected coronavirus death” on death certificates when the patient was suspected to have the virus before death.
However, the EOC will not report COVID-19 deaths unless they have been validated through Public Health Authorities.
