Dear editor,

I felt compelled to write this letter after some recent events in this country.

How can Trump call black men SOBs who peacefully and quietly protest social injustice by taking a knee during the National Anthem? Then he turns around and called some “good old boys” who storm a state capital building with automatic weapons “fine people.”

If you agree with these two scenarios, then I have to agree with Jeff Foxworthy that, “you might be a redneck.”

Some of those storm troopers were face to face with police officers, yelling and probably spitting on them and spreading their germs. I guess for them, Blue Lives don’t Matter.

Then there’s Brunswick, Ga., an unarmed black man, jogging while black, was murdered by a white father and son. This happened in February and nothing was done about it until a video came out.

It didn’t surprise me that they are Trump supporters. If the situation was reverse, I guarantee you they would have been arrested on the spot and charged with first-degree murder and a hate crime.

Then there’s Trump supporters waving Old Glory at their protest, right along with a Nazi flag. I served in the U.S. Army, 2½ years in Germany. I can honestly say I never saw a Nazi flag in those 2½ years.

This is United States of America under Trump.
