Beaumont man injured in shooting

BEAUMONT — A 21-year-old Beaumont man is recovering after being shot several times Wednesday afternoon.
Around 2 p.m., Beaumont police were called to the 2300 block of Tulane in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered the 21-year-old Beaumont man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery for his wounds.
According to the victim’s 28-year-old cousin, the two men went to meet an associate in the 2300 block of Tulane. As the associate arrived in a white Chevy Taurus with dark tinted windows, four armed young men jumped from the car and forced the cousins from their vehicle at gun point. A robber stole cash from the cousins’ pant pocket the victim was then shot five times.
Three of the suspects fled in the Taurus and the fourth suspect fled in the victim’s truck.
The truck was found just minutes later abandoned at the intersection of Delaware and Astor.
Beaumont Police continue to search for the suspects and the suspect vehicle.
