BPD shoots at dog during burglary investigation

Officers responding to a burglary in progress at a home in the 5100 block of Haden met with an angry dog Thursday night.
About 5:39 p.m. Jan. 22 police learned that the locals were chasing the suspect described only as a black male. The suspect was only described as a black male.
Unsure of where the suspect and residence were located, officers started to look around a home when a pit bull started to attack one of the officers. The officer attempted to retreat but the dog continued to advance. The officer fired one shot at the dog trying to keep from being attacked. The dog fled and apparently was not hit.
The bullet lodged in the ground. No one was injured and no property was damaged. The burglary suspect was not located.
