Monty Hanks, 56, of Freedom Christian Fellowship dies

Pastor Monty Hanks, 56, of Port Neches, Texas died Sunday, June 5, at the Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on July 9, 1954, to Alex and Wanda Hanks. He was the pastor of Freedom Christian Fellowship church in Port Neches.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H in Nederland. Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Freedom Christian Fellowship, 1406 Port Neches Ave. in Port Neches. Interment will be at Oak Bluff Memorial Park Cemetery, 101 Block St. in Port Neches.
Pastor Monty is survived by his wife, Marla Bush Hanks of Port Neches; mother, Wanda Hanks of Groves; 2 daughters, Aimee Mullin and husband Jason of Groves and Annie Lent and husband Kyle of Georgetown; son, Jared Hanks of Austin; sister, Charlotte Sasser and husband Ronnie of Port Neches; and 3 grandchildren, Aiden Carruthers, Kate Mullin, and Alex Mullin.
