Port Arthur store clerk killed during robbery

An armed robbery turned deadly Monday night at Fuel Depot in Port Arthur.

Justice of the Peace Brad Burnett confirmed a store clerk was shot and killed at Fuel Depot, 700 West Gulfway Drive.

The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m.

Burnett said there were two clerks inside the store at the time of the incident, one was working in the cooler and the other at the register.

At least two shots were fired and the clerk died at the scene.

An autopsy has been ordered.

The name of the clerk has not been released.
