Suspected Mid-County burglars arrested

Two men were taken into custody after allegedly entering a gated community in Nederland and burglarizing several vehicles.

An officer patrolling the area of Sterling Ridge Addition near Hodgson and Beauxart Garden Road came upon a vehicle just outside the addition and spoke with a male at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Nederland Police Chief Darrell Bush said other officers arrived and checked inside the addition where they found a number of vehicles had been burglarized. A 19-year-old Port Arthur man was arrested and bond set at $2,500. A warrant has been issued for the second man, age 20 of Groves. Both are charged with burglary of a vehicle.

Investigators believe the men may be responsible for recent burglaries in Port Neches and Groves as well.

Bush said some stolen property was recovered and other property believed to have been stolen but not yet reported was also located.

If you have any missing property and have not reported it to the Police, please call your local police department. For Port Neches, contact Detective Jesse Fournet at 719-4241.
