PA man shot in face; suspect at large

A Port Arthur man is a patient at Christus St. Mary’s Hospital recovering from a single gunshot wound to his facial area.
The shooting, according to a press statement issued by the Port Arthur Police Department, occurred at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday in the1200 block of 12th Ave.
Police believe the victim, 37-year-old Jafar A. Hill, was shot in a drug related offense.
According to PAPD, the bullet round entered the victim’s face and eventually came to rest in the area of his neck.
While in stable condition, the victim was transferred to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for treatment that includes the possibility of surgery.
Officers were able to locate several items of evidence including the weapon used in the shooting.
Hill was found to have an outstanding warrant for violating his parole (in commission of  a drug-related offense.)
The suspect has been identified, but remains at large.
