Anthony “Tony” Terracina III

Anthony “Tony” Terracina, III was born in Opelousas, LA on February 19, 1927 and passed away, at his home in Port Arthur, on February 29, 2016, at the age of 89.
Tony is preceded in death by his father, Anthony Terracina, Sr. and his mother, Teresa Simoneaux, step-father, Louis Simoneaux, step- mother, Verli Terracina and his son, Anthony “Tony” Terracina IV.  He is survived by his loving wife, Sharron Terracina; sisters, Alice Broussard, Marie Bratton, Maureen Richard, Melinda Terracina and Janice Marks; brothers, Johnny Billeaudeau, Kent Terracina, Luke Terracina and Sammy Terracina; daughters, Beverly McGee and Betty Nectoux; grandchildren, Shawn Butler, Stacey Avery, Kyle Hilton, Chad McGee, Kevin Nectoux, Katie McGill, Melissa Luke and Trey Terracina, 13 great-grandchildren.
Tony attended Woodrow Wilson High School and Lamar University, in Port Arthur. Tony served from 1941 -1943 in the Merchant Marines, also served his country, proudly in the U. S. Army, during WWII.  He retired from Gulf Oil, as an operator and while working for Gulf, he opened A & T Air Conditioning in 1969.
A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland.  Funeral services will be Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pups In Peril or Mid-County Paws of Hope, in Tony’s name.
