A tracksuit-wearing thief reportedly used a dating app to lure a man to an address in order to rob him, police said.

The victim thought he was going to meet up with a woman last week but instead was met by two armed men who reportedly stole his vehicle.

This week a Jefferson County grand jury indicted one of the alleged suspects on a charge of aggravated robbery.

The indicted man is identified as Traivonne Joshua Clark, 18, of Beaumont.

At approximately midnight May 2, the victim arrived at a location in the 4900 block of Wyatt to meet a female. When he got out of his 2016 jeep Cherokee he was approached by two men with handguns, according to the probable cause affidavit.

The suspects ordered the victim down before stealing the Jeep and traveling north on Wyatt. The vehicle was placed in the database as stolen, then at approximately 4:04 a.m. the Jeep was located near Concord and Delaware, the document read.

The suspect reportedly evaded police units and then fled on foot.

Surveillance at DNZ Mart, 3145 Concord, showed a man in a black tracksuit with white stripes and white Croc shoes exiting the vehicle.

A Facebook post was put out on the Beaumont Police page, and the suspect was identified as Traivonne Joshua Clark.

Clark arrived at the police station, was Mirandized and allegedly made a statement on setting the meet up via a dating app, committing the robbery and stealing the victim’s vehicle.

Clark remains in the county jail on a charge of aggravated robbery with bond set at $50,000.
