Woman charged in stabbing, beating death of man in Port Neches

PORT NECHES – A 20-year-old woman is in jail on a $100,000 bond in connection with the stabbing and beating death of a man in Port Neches.
Port Neches Police were called to at approximately 9:30 p.m. Friday for an assault that occurred at The Palms Apartment Complex, 877 Ridgewood Drive.
Officers were told that one person was at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas and another was possibly deceased at the complex, according to Chief Cheri Griffith.
Police arrived at the apartment shorty after and found a man lying on the living room of an apartment, deceased.
Based on evidence observed at the scene police believe the man had been stabbed and beaten with a baseball bat.
Officers and investigators spoke with witnesses and the female at the hospital, police said.
Following the initial investigation, officers arrested 20-year-old McKenzie Renee Eary. She was brought to jail and charged with murder. Eary’s bond is set at $100,000 according to information from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The deceased male is identified as 24-year-old Gregory Mandle Bobenoaux.
The investigation is ongoing.
