Jury: Nederland woman guilty of possession

A Jefferson County jury Wednesday found Anna Gabrielle Haley, 23, of Nederland guilty of possession of a controlled substance. Sentencing is set for March.
Haley was stopped by Groves police while driving Aug. 18 and arrested for outstanding warrants. A vehicle search uncovered less than a gram of methamphetamine on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
The jury deliberated for less than two hours. The felony conviction carries a punishment of 180 days to two years in jail.
Judge Larry Gist of the Drug Impact Court presided; Assistant Criminal District Attorneys Amy E. Tomlinson and Christopher Cadena prosecuted the case.
